Wedding Inspiration: Praveen & Mal
Introducing Praveen and Mal on their gorgeous wedding day.
The celebrations began at a beautiful London museum before the couple headed across the city to Hackney Town Hall. And not just any town hall: the very same one where both of their families were married. Some places are worth coming back to.
Between the two venues came the bit every bride secretly loves: the quiet stretch in the back of the car, husband beside her, London going past the window, no one asking her a single question.
One outfit, two very different occasions
Praveen's lehenga was a fusion look, and a clever one. It had to hold its own for a civil ceremony in the morning and still feel like a reception outfit by the evening.
She wore the Rivaah Collection in rhodium and clear crystal. The rhodium (silver) plating sat with the silver-white embroidery rather than fighting it, and the tear drop and large oval stones followed the line of her neckline instead of crowding it. Clear crystal on an ivory outfit is a quiet decision that does a lot of work in photographs, especially under afternoon light on a set of stone steps.

Hackney Town Hall
A string quartet played as Praveen walked down the aisle towards the love of her life. Two families, one building, a second generation.
Then everyone they love lined the steps with fistfuls of confetti, and the newlyweds walked out into it.
And then the dance floor
The same set carried straight through to the evening. No costume change for the jewellery, no scrambling in a hotel room at 6pm. It went from stone steps to dry ice without missing a beat.
