The Kyles Experience

The Kyles Experience

With their new collection and recent expansion: now’s the time to visit Kyles Collection (As featured in Asiana Wedding Magazine)

Kyles Collection have long been one of the biggest names in Asian bridal jewellery in the UK. At the forefront of new concepts, their designs set the trends that others follow. Beauty and intricacy lie at the heart of every single piece of their range – all of which can be made bespoke, with your choice of precious materials and Swarovski crystals.

2012: The new collection

Updating the timeless Mughal princess look that never seems to go out of fashion, the team have launched the Heritage range adding an unexpected subtleness to traditional antique gold and bronze jewellery. To complement this more understated feel, the choice of stones is important. Nisha explains: ‘We frost our Swarovski crystals, making the stone look almost matt for a more sophisticated result as well as working with darker shades. It’s not just the main statement pieces that matter, all aspects of your jewellery should be equally as stunning. Which is why Kyles can even make bespoke chura sets, ensuring the finish meets the same standards of your necklace. They have also introduced triangle shaped kaleeray to hang from your wrist, available in all colours.

2012: The new showroom

With over two decades of designs behind them and ever increasing demands, it was only a matter of time before this unique jewellery brand would expand and this year sees their Green Street showroom double in size – there’s something new for everyone, even regular customers. Set over two floors, you can now explore a more extensive selection, while enjoying a more comfortable consultation. But don’t worry if you can’t visit instore yourself. Nisha reveals: ‘We now have 14 stockists in the UK and four international ones in Mauritius, Denmark, Canada, Finland and New York’.

Later this year the team will be launching the Kyles Elite Bridal Box: a new concept in jewellery boxes. After all, there’s no point owning an heirloom creation, if you don’t have somewhere safe to keep it. Nisha adds: ‘I can’t wait to show it off! Drawing on our years of expertise we’ve designed a gorgeous wooden piano style box with special sections to make sure your wedding jewellery is preserved for years to come.’

Digital Shopper
Enhance your instore shopping experience with a virtual tour of their full collection; perfect if you want to browse at your own leisure. Rav Dadi, Marketing Manager explains: ‘Technology has always been important to Kyles. So we’ve produced an interactive digital catalogue allowing couples to familiarise themselves with our brand and designs.’

Kyles launch a new concept for brides

Kyles Collection is the biggest name in Asian jewellery – and with their continued focus on quality and service, they have now launched a new concept for their number one customer – the bride.
The Kyles Exclusive Bridal Evening is a new service, designed for the busy, professional bride-to-be who is looking for one-to-one time with a Kyles expert, but at a time that suits her best.
Existing Kyles fans will know that entering the boutique as a regular customer or as a bride-to-be is an amazing experience. Inside the beautiful showroom you will find an endless variety of innovative fusion jewellery with unique designs, merged with western sophistication and Eastern glamour, made with Swarovski® Elements to complement intricate, understated or bold designs.
Always at the forefront of new concepts, there’s no surprise why every bride who sets eyes on their creations simply falls in love.
In fact, fashion designers are now incorporating the Kyles concept into the outfit – rather than the other way around. Kyles Chief Designer Nisha Dadi enthuses, ‘It’s great to know that our designs are so innovative that some brides come to us first before choosing their outfit.’
When you step into Kyles you breathe a sigh of relief. Kyles extends a warm welcome in a luxurious yet customer-friendly ambience. The spacious state-of the art showroom is totally devoted to the art and craft of jewellery.
And if you want to experience all this with added benefits, you’ll love the Kyles Exclusive Bridal Evening.

Nisha reveals, ‘Customer service is a matter of great pride for us. It’s important to understand the customer, her style and personality so that we can tailor jewellery to suit them. This is why we have launched an extra special opportunity. Designed for the working women in mind who cannot visit during working hours, we’re offering a VIP experience to help them understand the concept of Kyles, familiarise themselves with our brand and designs, and talk through the collections that would best suit them for their Big Day.’
The entire process is designed to give brides a relaxing, in-depth shopping experience and an intimate consultation. ‘Exclusively held every season, brides have the luxury of browsing at their own leisure to simply admire the new collections, concepts and designs that we are forever introducing,’ adds Nisha.
Starting with a 90 minute bridal consultation with experienced designers, going through various different ideas and aspects of the collections, brides are able to browse through the showroom and admire the ranges of designs in their own VIP area, while being treated to delicious canapés and champagne.

Nisha proudly adds, ‘We closed the shop to the public to make the experience unique, personal and more exclusive, addressing the needs of the bride. The designer will give an introduction into the brand, explain the production process from how the jewellery is made to the end result of crystals being implemented, all of which emphasise how bespoke our creations are. This then leads onto mood board influences such as traditional Jodhaa Akbar style sets that include regal antique necklaces and pearls / rani haars, Spanish theme sets, party / occasion and intricate mehndi wear jewellery to reception jewellery such as couture pieces, off the shoulder. What’s special is that these themes and backdrops that we have created set an ambience and idea of how the bride will look on her wedding day, not just with the jewellery but taking into account the venue and décor scheme. We talk to the brides on what themes they will be having and what certain styles of jewellery would fit that concept.’
The special invite session for brides-to-be really showcases that Kyles Collection is a concept considered with an emotion for the bride. Nisha explains, ‘Whatever the client wears will symbolise something that relates to Kyles. Each experienced designer (specially trained by chief designer Nisha) will have a look at their outfits taking into consideration how she will drape the dupatta on her head, create the perfect look for the bride, show how pieces can change themes such as an Arabic look with chain work, a Pakistani traditional look by adding a nose ring or jhoomar, a belt or rani haar that can turn her into a Bengali bride. It’s about giving them multiple choices by creating different looks. We also have models walking around the showroom showcasing the latest jewellery collection so you get a better idea on how it will look.’
The bridal experience is not just created for the bride, but for the bridal party and groom, that’s why you can invite two guests.
The groom can co-ordinate with the bride as it’s just as imperative that they look the part with sophisticated jewellery ranges of traditional maharaja and high fashion statement pieces – there’s a whole selection just for the groom, making the process of matching each other much more fun.
Couples can relax and unwind over complimentary drinks and enjoy creating their unique jewellery, choosing a set that suits their personality and sense of style.
‘We are looking to invite brides that have chosen their venue and outfit so they can theme accordingly,’ says Nisha. And if you haven’t selected your outfit or venue, you can still have a one-to-one personal consultation with one of their chief designers at any time.
Whichever service you choose, all the packaging of the jewellery is done in the exclusive Kyles Elite Bridal Box, which the bride-to-be will receive as a special gift on the bridal evening to make it a personal Kyles experience.

Rish Memories

How Anisha Vasani of Asiana gave Manrina & Rishi Rich days to remember…

Date: 21-25 Sep 2011 Photos: HS Photography (official), Rafyl Photography (behind the scenes) Make-up: Ambreen Hair: Dar Mehndi: Ash Kumar, Pavan Outfits: Silons, Sonas (bride), Ziggi Studio (groom) Jewellery: Yash Bespoke, Kyles Collection, Gold Factory

She used to scrawl ‘Manrina loves Rishi’ in a heart all over her textbooks as a starry-eyed child, Manrina isn’t exaggerating when she tells him ‘I have loved you forever’. After her parents had repeatedly refused to let her attend gigs for being underage, she suddenly found herself in later years sharing the same circle of friends – despite their paths crossing on a few occasions, it wasn’t until at a barbecue at a friend’s last summer that they finally got to connect.

Asiana reception

Date: 25 Sep Venue: The Grange Hotel, Tower Hill Photos: HS Photography & Rafyl Videography: A Dream Wedding Hair & make-up: Ambreen
Jewellery: Kyles Outfits: Sonas (bride), Catering: Salt and Grain Decor: RWS

VENUE
Manrina: The Grange completely blew us away, and made all the more special because ours was the first wedding reception to be held there. Rishi: I was after a glamorous event – and Anisha’s idea to lay it out as an Oscars themed party complete with red carpet, Nihal interviewing guests and celebrity friends, photo booth and jazz band was a burst of genius!

PHOTOGRAPHY
M: ‘HS Photography are perfectionists, professional and simply brilliant. From the stunning glass personalised guestbook to the albums, we’ll never be short of memories to cherish.’
R: ‘For videography, it was always going to be A Dream Wedding, because Pankaj was one of the people that gave me a break in the industry back in the day. And the photo booth by Picture Blast was one of the most fun and talked about features of the night. Every time we see the CD of pictures we can’t stop laughing!’

JEWELLERY
M: ‘Nisha from Kyles suggested we go for something intricate to match the golden leaf design on the dress. Studded with Swarovski crystal, with matching bracelet and brooches, I felt like a precious jewel myself!’

OUTFITS
M: I saw the outfit I wanted in Asiana Wedding (Sonas catwalk spread from
Asiana Bridal Show 2011). I wanted something grand and princess like. The gown was an off the shoulder piece with crystals on the bodice with a flared skirt and elongated trail. I did worry that seeing as it was made for a model, it wouldn’t look right on me, but it fit like a glove – that’s why they call me Indian Barbie!’
R: ‘I got my navy two-toned suit from Pal Zileri, and Ziggi took the silk from Manrina’s dress to make a handkerchief and cravat so we matched each other at just the right level.’

MAKE-UP
M: ‘Ambreen turned up the drama with gold and black smoky eyes, plus a double layer of false lashes for added flutter, and sparkle on the lids so it caught the light. I felt so feminine in peach lips and absolutely glamourous under the sweeping, tumbling hairstyle she created for me. Pavan, a Guinness World Record holder for Mehndi, did my body art – I’ve never had so many people take photos of my shoulder!’

THE PLAN
M: ‘When we asked Anisha Vasani from Asiana and Sid Chikte from Chameleon Events, we knew we’d be in the best hands, but we never imagined so many industry’s finest would sign up so quickly to make our day so spectacular. People are calling it ‘the wedding of the year’. Thank you to all the wedding service providers, and thank you my lucky stars!

Kyles Collection’s Rav Dadi ties the knot with his finest jewel Manjna

THE PROPOSAL
Manjna: We spent a romantic weekend in the Isle of Bute, Scotland where Rav showed me the sights of where he grew up. As we arrived at the most beautiful part of the island, Rav got down on one knee... Rav: After planning the day for months I was gutted that when the big moment arrived, we were drenched from head to toe! Yet despite the ferocious winds and downpour when I pulled out the ring she immediately said yes!

THE WISH
Manjna: Finding the man of my dreams was already beyond my wildest imagination so any wedding, intimate or grand, would have made my dreams come true!
Rav: Being in the wedding industry I already knew who I wanted involved – only the crème de la crème of the UK’s service providers. I knew they would ensure we would have the dream day that both our families wanted.

THE PLAN
Manjna: Both our families had regular get-togethers to share ideas and work together to organise the wedding, which was great – it felt like we were already an extended family. As Rav works at his parents couture jewellery business Kyles Collection, they knew all the right service providers to help us – I couldn’t have felt more like a princess. Our first decision was booking the gurdwara and The Grove as our venues. We wanted them close together to make getting around easy for the guests.
Rav: We indulged in a whole year of planning ensuring everything was picture perfect. It went past almost too fast, but we enjoyed every second of it. Our main wish was that we put on a wedding that was special and different - a real treat for our guests so they could enjoy it as much as us. Key to that was creating the right ambiance, for which we needed to consider the colour scheme and outfits so that everything matched.

THE BIG DAY
Manjna: My day began at 5am, getting ready with my sisters. I felt tearful to be leaving them behind, but luckily Lubna Rafiq’s striking make-up hid the evidence! She did a great job that perfectly matched my mehndi done by henna artist Pavan. We decided not to see each other for a week before the wedding, to the point of not showing one another our outfits, so I was bursting with anticipation and excitement. It made it all the more special when I saw Rav arrive on horseback – he was like my knight in a shining sherwani! I really enjoyed cutting the cake, an elegant five-tiered chocolate, vanilla and fruitcake by Blue River Cafe. All our guests received favours and a keepsake box designed by Henna Hamid.
Rav: The ceremony was special, made even more perfect with the food provided by VIP Lounge. Guests then proceeded to the The Grove. The entertainment was a definite highlight. The main music was provided by Kudos and their pianist Angel while the 4x4 bhangra accompanied by Drumline set the mood for a night of bhangra boogie, captured in style by Epic Media.

FOND MEMORIES
Manjna: Our first dance to Teri Ore from Singh is Kinng was really emotional. We forgot everyone at that point, it was just Rav and I, lost in romance, looking lovingly into each others eyes, thinking: we’ve made it, we found each other, and we’re now married. Knowing I had become Mrs Dadi felt unreal, at the reception I was still introducing Rav as my fiancé instead of husband!
Rav: Marrying the woman of my dreams made me happier than I could imagine. I loved the unity of our families. Both mine and Manjana’s grandfather knew each other back in Kenya over 40 years ago. Manjna and I met completely randomly, and then found out our families knew each other – now that’s fate! We were meant to be, and I have no doubt I’m the luckiest man alive.

Set & Match

For Kyles’ golden son

Necklace The focal point of the jewellery, was bespoke, and will soon be available
to the public. An Egyptian style collar, it cascaded into tiny drops around the neckline. With its regal Jodhaa Akbar design, it used traditional red crystal and antique work with Siam and golden shadow.

Hairpiece Designed to complement the hairstyle and outfit, it shimmered through the net of Manjna’s dupatta. As part of the jhoomar, the crystal cascaded across the bun with a central leaf shaped pendant.

Kalirey/panja The hand kalirey, encrusted with Swarovski crystals was made to match the lengha.

Kalgi Worn over the turban, Rav’s jewellery was made from antique gold and took inspiration from Manjna’s necklace creating a matching set that will become a family heirloom.

Napkin rings These were given to guests as a gift with the initials R&M engraved on a leaf design.

Mani Kohli, Khubsoorat

Inspired by the intricacy of Kyles Jewellery designs legendary designer Mani created a dazzling Champaign sleeveless ball gown adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystals intertwined in the fabric. For a real couture touch, Mani added one shoulder which was handcrafted by Rav himself creating a truly romantic look that reflected Manjna’s personality.

Saran Kohli, Khubsoorat

Saran’s concept was to create an English aristocrat look merged with a leather colour for a masculine touch softened with a silk and satin kurta style shirt. The two piece tailor made suit used ethnic fabrics sourced by Saran echoing Khubsoorat and Kyle’s signature trait of uniquenessess and crystal work thanks to the Swarovskis placed at the back of the jacket.

Bombay Stores

With a nod to his Sikh heritage, Rav opted for a regal Punjabi sherwani with a doti; a bespoke design made for him by Shyan and his team. Flowered with rich embroidery in red and gold around the collar, neck and chest, sparkly crystals added a royal twist. A simple red turban was wrapped on by his close friend Magic Singh matching the smart red cravat worn underneath with an exquisite Swarovski crystal brooch in red and white.

Khushboo’s by Chand
With Khushboo’s being a firm favourite for Kyle’s clientele, commissioning designer Chand to make Manjna’s traditional outfit was a natural decision. Grand and with a Mughal decadence, the heavily embroidered and crytallised lengha had an elegant fishtail skirt with trail and fitted corset top – she looked simply divine!
